All Right to Copy?

http://ar2c.smartcopying.edu.au/

This is an interactive Learning Resource to teach Primary and Secondary students about copyright, and its impact on society and themselves. The website engages students as they watch two students encounter numerous copyright challenges as they create a website for a competition. Appropriate use regarding various media platforms is provided to challenge the students' ethical practices and encourage a healthy digital citizenship.

'All Right to Copy?' is free to use, and requires the Flash Player, so is not compatible with Apple/Mac devices, relegating it to computer based learning or android devices. It is designed for students in years 6-8.

Whilst in theory an excellent resource, its graphics, layout and design make it almost archaic when compared with contemporary Apps and software. It is hoped the Australian Government is revitalising such a promising resource for continued and future use.

'Can I use that Picture' is a visual guide designed by the visualcommunicationguy to develop visually rich information through design. It is an excellent resource for walking students through common terms such as fair use, creative commons and public domain, along with possible pitfalls of incorrect assumptions or mis-use of images.
