Edmodo is a free, secure social learning network designed for students, teachers and parents to communicate, collaborate and exchange ideas in Primary and Secondary Schools.
Edmodo provides unlimited storage to schools, along with intuitve and flexible layouts and tools to enhance learning capabilities and communication between the school and home.
This resource is available online and across all available platforms and mobile devices.
Edmodo provides the framework and tools for teachers and students to create an interactive website to facilitate group discussions, exchange information, submit homework and assignments, share links,
consult a shared calendar and access Google Drive direct.
Edmodo has been designed to resemble
facebook to encourage students to engage with its many uses, and provide an easier assimilation into school community life. Unlike Twitter and Facebook, Edmodo has been designed with multiple layers of security to prevent cyber-bullying, with all posts moderated, and no messages can be sent between students.
Edmodo does not allow for peer assessment or include foundations for rubric style marking. Addressing this short-coming would further enhance Edmodo as an
excellent cross platform communication resource.
