PICSCOUT

The PicScout Search tool has been designed to help web users identify and license images that they have found and want to use.

PicScout is a company that seeks to provide its customers with images that can be tracked, analysed and ultimately ensure royalties are recovered.

This free resource is web based and can be run on any device or platform, and is suitable for students in upper primary and beyond. Students discover that images 'found' anywhere on the web are almost exclusively bound by copyright laws encouraging a healthy digital citizenship to avoid unintentionally stealing intellectual property found online.

PicScout is a valuable tool for students to conduct image searches as they learn to evaluate IP and copyright legislation, the dangers of using an image without permission and therefore informing them how to refine search engine tools to ensure the correct usage rights are selected when locating image data for use online.
