SCOOP.IT!
Scoop.it! is apublishing platform that allows users to curate relevant (topic driven) content (articles, social media, blogs, web pages, movies) in to one location. Scoop. It! provides bookmarking options, and topic related boards to share 'scoops'.
Scoop.it! provides content browsing through key word searches feeding from other users, topic boards and 'scoops' (live feeds). Scoop.it also generates a suggestion engine that builds a list of keyword driven results. This could be useful for students who need to access and store a variety of topic related multimodal texts in one place quickly. Evaluation and critical analysis of all of the information gathered can then be assessed quickly and organised as required.
Scoop.it! can be accessed and used for free across all platforms and devices in a limited capacity and has no age limit. The $11/month per user cost for further licensing makes it an unlikely addition to any school budget, however could be used in its 'free' limited capacity as a one-off activity to explore Investigating with ICT, particularly in its ability to locate, generate and access various information so quickly on any given topic.
