PREZI
Prezi is a presentation software that enables students to manage information of various formats that they are gathering from web investigations in one location. The software encourages visual learning techniques to design 'maps' of their topic/research area in the format of a mind map.
Students can import almost all formats of file type - image, video, pdf in their 'Prezi.' Prezi is IWB native, enabling collaboration within the classroom as students interact on the file at the same time.
Prezi is available to run across all platforms and on mobile devices, with cloud storage providing student engagement at home and school. Prezi provides an educational pricing structure, offering a limited access free bundle that provides a small amount of cloud storage, privacy settings and inter-device access, but no image editing tools, and offline work capabilities. The next option costs $4.92/ month providing all the options previously excluded. Prezi is designed for users 13 and over, with those aged between 13 and 18 requiring parent or guardian approval.
Prezi is a popular and engaging ICT resource that helps students define, store and evaluate data from investigations conducted online. Its associated cost structure would prove prohibitive to many schools adopting it, in preference for its more basic predecessors.
